Our partner ETRA has integrated energy consumption data from Barcelona public buildings through Sentilo in its new smart ecosystem BESOS, and vice versa, BESOS is feeding data into the Barcelona Sentilo platform.

BESOS is a project that seeks the development of an advanced, integrated energy management system that enables energy efficiency in smart cities from a holistic perspective. BESOS seeks to transform the traditional district Energy Management Systems (EMS) that nowadays are based in isolated ICT management solutions (“silos”) in open systems able to share data and services among themselves and with external third party applications through an open trustworthy platform.

Another BESOS pilot is taking place in the city of Lisbon. BESOS is an EU Research and Development project led by ETRA and funded by the EC in the context of the 7th Framework Program.
